HubSpot updates November 2021

There are plenty of fresh updates launched in November that we recommend you to get familiar with. Our favorites are updates such as deal splitting between several different users (yay!), sandboxes, two-way deal data synchronization between third-party platforms and the brand new customer portal feature that makes the customer service processes more efficient. As every month, we listed all the new HubSpot features in this very blog post. There are also features that are currently in the public BETA stage and that you’ll be able to use by contacting your account manager, in case the features are not already available in your HubSpot account.
Marketing & CMS Hub
Reporting on business units (Enterprise)
- What is it about: New set-up reportage and dashboard templates for business units are now available in HubSpot.
- What are the benefits: Have you already got familiar with HubSpot Marketing Enterprise licenses Business Unit feature? In case the goal is to use one license for several brands and business units, this is the feature for you. Business units can be defined with their own brands and unit information can be linked to, for example, marketing elements such as emails and forms. Now also the reportage is simpler since the business units can be used as report attributes.
Active themes
- What is it about: In addition to HubSpot’s individual set-up web page templates there are also themes that include a collection of similar theme based templates.
- What are the benefits: HubSpot’s new landing page templates provide a simple way to build new campaign pages. In addition to individual page templates HubSpot now also offers entire themes that include several page templates. Themes can be defined with certain brand elements such as logos, colors and navigations that will be repeated throughout every single page template of the same theme. The themes support the brand unity and maintenance even though there were several different page templates in use.
Advanced Publishing for pages (BETA)
- What is it about: Manage the page publication by clicking the tab under the page editor.
- What are the benefits: The brand new page publication tab located in the page editor makes managing the page publication easier. You can schedule the page publication or deactivation beforehand when editing the page. This comes in handy when you want to deactivate a page, for example, on the date when an event registration time has passed. At the same time the unnecessary visits to the expired page can be avoided. The feature is currently in the public BETA stage but you can have access by asking your account manager.
Sales Hub
Deal splits
- What is it about: Split a deal's value between several users.
- What are the benefits: Splitting the deal between several users is a long awaited new feature that helps the sales team follow the goal realization as the deal’s value in currency can be splitted between several users. Deals can be either split evenly between chosen users or by measured percentages with wanted emphasis. The sales team’s goal realization is often followed in deal generated revenue and there can be several different team members who have affected in closing the deal. That’s where the deal split can be a very essential feature. In case you are using the sales forecast feature, splitting the deals also affects the sales team members’ personal goal realization with chosen emphasis.
Service Hub
Customer portal (BETA)
- What is it about: Customer portals are customer specific environments that require signing in. In the portal a customer can view their sent and open customer service tickets and answer them.
- What are the benefits: The brand new customer portal improves the quality of customer service especially in those customerships where there’s a great deal of support tickets or the answering process takes time. The portal creates transparency and better communication with customers as they can follow the support ticket process in real time. The portal also reduces the work amount of customer service employees as it removes unnecessary communication between the customer and the customer service team. This feature is currently in the public BETA stage but you can have access to it by asking your account manager.
Operations Hub
Sync Deals via Data Sync Integrations (BETA)
- What is it about: Data Sync integrations enable now also the two-way deal data integration between third party systems and HubSpot.
- What are the benefits: The Operations Hub has developed step by step from the very beginning and now the data sync feature enables two-way integrations of contacts, companies and deals between third party systems and HubSpot in real time. Deal data integration works in the following system integrations that have been created with Operations Hub: Netsuite, Dynamics, Outreach, SugarCRM, Zoho CRM, Zendesk Sell, Insightly, ActiveCampaign, Copper, Bullhorn, Close Keap, Ontraport, FollowUpBoss, Freshsales Suite and Connectwise Manage. The feature is currently in the public BETA stage but you can have access by asking your account manager.
All Hubs
Sandboxes (Enterprise)
- What is it about: Test the portal changes safely in a realistic environment with the brand new sandboxes feature.
- What are the benefits: This feature that was first introduced at INBOUND is an important update when it comes to complex process entities where the changes and automations are wished to be functioning without having to fix the data in the real production environment. The following elements from the actual production environment can be copied to Sandboxes:
- Deal and ticket pipelines
- Properties and property groups (expect for formula and roll-up properties)
- Themes, templates and modules
- Custom object definitions
Sandbox is available for enterprise users (all hubs).
Other updates
One report can be placed to multiple dashboards
- What is it about: Place the same report to multiple dashboards.
- What are the benefits: Instead of having to copy the reports multiple times for multiple different dashboards you can now link the the same individual report view to multiple dashboards.
List restore bin (BETA)
- What is it about: Restore the deleted lists back in active use.
- What are the benefits: HubSpot's customer service team noticed that a great deal of the individual support tickets are about restoring the already deleted lists. So, now there’s a new tab created in the platform where you can find the recently deleted lists. In this view you can restore the deleted lists back to active with just a few clicks. This feature is currently in the public BETA stage but you can have access to it by contacting your account manager.
Academy app on mobile
- What is it about: HubSpot Academy courses and training are now available in the mobile application as well.
- What are the benefits: Learn new things about HubSpot wherever you are! HubSpot’s comprehensive education material bank, HubSpot Academy, is now available for all users in the mobile application. Learning has never been easier!
Email associations in Outlook Desktop Add-in
- What is it about: Manage emails HubSpot associations directly in Outlook’s browser view.
- What are the benefits: Outlook users can now define outgoing email HubSpot associations with different contacts, deals, tickets and companies. When you are editing an email you can access the association view by clicking on the HubSpot icon in the tools banner. By clicking the icon you can easily choose the wanted object associations that consider the outgoing email.
